Momentum of Money

Much of the same.
More interviews with industry-types.
Why I’m back writing today, I guess, is that we have astonishing momentum with a Hedge Fund group who are interested in the project.
Our lawyer, Bianca Bezdek (of Bezdek-Goz), told us that this one seems promising.
As she is an amazingly lawyer, she is also, and wisely so, a caveator; telling us that no deal is done until the check clears (Perry’s words not hers).
Without revealing to much of a rather boring story, I don’t think we could have done better on selling the idea.
We’ve pitched now six times to various partners in their group, each seemingly enthusiastic about the idea.
At a time yet to be determined, we pitch to their co-production company, they would shoulder the other half of the financial burden.
That company is based in Ft. Lauderdale – a place that I am not totally opposed to trading in my winter coat for a day or two if we have to go pitch.

Can we get into Cartoon Network

More pitching for money.
More filming of Gil and Dave practicing their pitches.
We need to purchase new lav mics…
Being a boom operator is really taxing.
I have so much respect for these guys (and woman, too).
Plus, it would free one of us up because right now we’re both tied up with shooting.
Completely unable to make phone calls to LA etc…
Ben Gruber, by the way is pitching Adult Swim.
We’re attempting to negotiate our way into that one.
And, I think they’re located in Atlanta, GA.

On site Filming with KanDu

(Note… I will not post a great number of these dispatches, until we are through with the majority of the filming.
Last thing I want is someone we’re filming, reading these things and becoming self-conscious. Especially Gil and Dave. Sorry Gil. Sorry Dave.).

******
Spent the day with Gil and Dave as they worked on Reality show ideas.
Pitches.
Exactly what we wanted.
They asked me not to post what the ideas were – at least not until they register them with the guild and get a number of meetings.
They both seems okay with us there.
A little self-conscious.
But the more we’re around, the more natural they’ll eventually be.
That’s my hope, any way.
Was very funny, them arguing ( and I think it was mostly for our benefit) about the name of their company.
KanDu.
Appearently they wanted Can DO! but it was taken, so Dave bought the other web domain without consulting GIl...
This was a story/argument they've had before as it seemed a bot staged for us...

Just finished a series of meeting with Gil and Dave’s agent Sam Stewart (Stewart-Fitzgerald Agency).
We secured a deal so that we’ll be following them around a little more.
Along with Ben Gruber.
Courtney Dinar.
Hopefully Bill Marsilli, too…
That remains to be broached…
Bill, if you’re reading this (yeah, right) I’ll be contacting you when I coming out to LA.
Anyway, glad they’re game.
Glad they’re on board.
Sam seems like a pretty good egg and has no problem reconnoitering with production companies on our behalf.
